“Emily Nixon’s designs have a distinctive sea-worn imperfection, evoking an extraordinary language of the coastline"
Fine jewellery created using the ancient art of lost wax casting. Emily
creates luxurious, precious pieces inspired by textures found along the
tide line in her homeland of Cornwall, in the United Kingdom.
Following ten years as gallery curator Emily returned to her own creative process in 2002, beginning to make experimental pieces of jewellery using dried seaweed. Refining her process to create smaller scale pieces, Emily first works in wax, approaching each piece as she would a sculpture. Emily now works from a beach side studio in West Cornwall in the UK, studying the minutiae of twists and textures of the flotsam she finds.
Fascinated by combining glittering gemstones with natural forms, these distinctive designs retain a hand crafted, sculptural identity. Gemstones are individually selected for their unusual color and cut, Emily’s trademark sea-worn finish accentuating the organic influence.
A jewellery designer with a language entirely her own, these statement pieces are a celebration of nature at its most unique. Award winning, and highly sought after, Emily’s pieces are collected worldwide.
